Deer & Doe Melilot

December 5, 2016

I’m SO thrilled with how this came out. After my muslin, I took a little break and did some other projects. When I finally had some time to work on it, I tried on the muslin again and made a few tweaks. I ended up pinching out .25″ or…

Baby Sophisticate

December 5, 2016

Here’s the finished baby sophisticate for Jamie’s nugget! I’ll be sending it along with some socks (if I can remember where I stashed them), a book, and a mustache pacifier.
I got the buttons at Michael’s since I couldn’t seem to find any that worked anywhere!…

Sergers and disappointments

November 28, 2016

This weekend was Thanksgiving with Mal’s parents! We had a nice time and I got some knitting done. I finished Jamie’s baby sophisticate – just have to block it and sew on buttons. I also got a good 5 or 6 inches done on my Blue Bell scarf that has…

Geranium Dress 2: treetop party!

I made another Geranium dress for Lindsey, and it came out SO cute. This one is 6-12mo size, sleeveless, and with a gathered skirt. The fabric is amazing.…

Jackie’s Caravan Tote

November 21, 2016

I finished Jackie’s caravan tote, and it went much faster than I anticipated! The longest part was the cutting out, which was amplified by my severely sprained ankle. The rest of the bag was pretty easy to put together, even though I had to control the pedal with my left…

Change of plans – Jackie’s bag

November 8, 2016

On the way back from Skye we stopped at Blair Cast On the way back from Skye we stopped at Blair Castle where they had a great fashion exhibit from their collection. They also had a room of stunning needlework collected or created by one of the Duke’s daughters in the 1800s.

With our extra day, we went to Lochcarron of Scotland for a fabric mill tour. We were going to spend the day exploring the Scottish Borders but found a giant bulge in the tire of our rental car so we anxiously drove back to drop it off, avoiding as many of the millions of potholes as possible.

Then we headed to our stately hotel for our last day before heading home: a spa day complete with afternoon tea and yes another tasting menu.

We drove to one hike and turned right around when we saw the crowd. But we did get some gorgeous views, a tour at Talisker, and an incredible tasting menu @scorrybreacrestaurant.

Then to our stylish B&B. The next day we headed to Skye but stopped at Glencoe for an easy walk around a beautiful little loch.

The castle was a filming location for a Christmas episode of Downton Abbey, and there were photos everywhere. In the little cafe a woman asked if she could take a photo of the photo over our table and I said “sure, I love that show” and she looked at me dead serious and said “yeah of course!” Like duh.
Very full day in Edinburgh: National Museum of Sco Very full day in Edinburgh: National Museum of Scotland and the Dr. Who exhibit, lunch in a building from the 1500s, Edinburgh Castle, shopping, Dovecot studios (textile gallery), and the Scotch Whiskey Experience. We logged almost 8 miles of walking then took a taxi back to our amazing hotel.
