This weekend was Thanksgiving with Mal’s parents! We had a nice time and I got some knitting done. I finished Jamie’s baby sophisticate – just have to block it and sew on buttons. I also got a good 5 or 6 inches done on my Blue Bell scarf that has been waiting for me to pick back up for almost 10 months.
I mentioned to Jackie that I wanted to learn to use a serger and start sewing knits, and she said “oh I have one I’ve never used! It’s a good one too, a Janome – want it?” UM, YES PLEASE!
I woke up this morning and saw the Stitch ginger jeans workshop email! I was so pumped I jumped out of bed and ran downstairs to sign up and then saw the dates…Jan 20-22. That’s the weekend Sam, Logan, and Kate are coming in for the march. I’d be OK ditching them for a few hours and skipping the march, but I can’t for the entire weekend.
Instead, I emailed to set up not only my serger basics class, but some private lessons for the jeans. I hopefully will only need a few lessons (especially with the ginger jeans sewalong online), like some fitting help and finishing help? At $35/hour it’ll be much cheaper than the workshop.
