Plaid Fairfield

March 14, 2019

Since I’ve been making so many repeat patterns, I’ve been debating if I should make separate posts or not. I decided yes! I like seeing them all on a grid. Mal requested some long sleeve button-ups, and picked out this beautiful plaid from Stitch! The last time I made…

Mal ♥ Tea, or A Mad Tea Party Fairfield Button-Up!

March 27, 2018

This is Mal’s birthday shirt! I can’t remember what I was searching for but this Cotton + Steel Rifle Paper Co. Wonderland 100% cotton popped up and I had to order it immediately. Mal loves tea. He also enjoys good design and illustration, and fun shirts, so this fabric is…

Fairfield Button-up Zebra Edition

January 24, 2018

I finished Mal’s 4th Fairfield weeks ago and forgot to post it. Nothing new to report here, aside from cutting the collar stand with a bigger seam allowance that ended up being really helpful. I think for the next shirt I’ll try this method though. My biggest achievement with this…

December 15, 2017

I love the idea of reflecting on a year of making. I’ve always been pretty crafty, but since I had to quit serious bookmaking activities (it was my full time job!) after an injury 8 years ago, I had a huge lull in my crafting productivity. In fact, I think…

We met 40 years ago as tiny bebes in the park, and through the years we drifted apart several times but always found each other again at various dance recitals, school field trips, beach clubs, fabric stores, and summer jobs. The universe kept shoving us together til it stuck. This quilt is a hug from afar. I might not be able to get up to New Jersey frequently but this quilt will be there for cozy/comforting times as needed.

I picked out my fabric, then used a quilt generator at savoreverystitch.com (the last slide), then imported it into Photoshop and colored over it (second to last slide), basically changing the whole thing, but it was an awesome starting place.
