A flippin’ awesome Thread Theory Finlayson

December 4, 2017

This fabric was an impulse buy the last time I was in Three Little Birds. It’s a Charley Harper interlock knit from Birch, and this substrate worked so much better for a sweatshirt than the Lodo dress I made this summer. Plus, how could I resist these penguins? Mal…

Another Fairfield Button-up for Mal!

November 13, 2017

I’m on a button-up roll! Luckily for Mal, because he really needs a wardrobe refresh. After the success of my first Fairfield, I immediately cut out two more, and have fabric for a third. It’s like this pattern was drafted just for Mal – the fit is excellent. I…

Thread Theory Fairfield Button-up!

October 30, 2017

I’ve been meaning to make Mal a button-up shirt for a while. I even bought the fabric months ago at Stitch and it’s been sitting on my shelf taunting me. We recently bought fabric for two more, so it was time to finally tackle it! This pattern is awesome, much…

Another Deer & Doe Plantain for Rachel

October 16, 2017

Since I bought the fabric in my last post without a plan, I had 3 yards instead of the 2.3 called for in the Aldaia pattern. I had a good amount leftover, so I decided to make a quick surprise t-shirt for Rachel! The last plantain I made her came…

Dotty Pauline Alice Aldaia Dress

October 8, 2017

Polka dot? Don’t mind if I do! (Mal insisted I insert that joke). I seriously love how this dress came out. I bought this fabric, Art Gallery Jungle Ave Dotted Boulevard, at Stitch in July when they had a sale on knits with a vague plan that I’d make a…

Here’s my second pieced quilt, made for my very Here’s my second pieced quilt, made for my very special bff @s.a.m.r.i.v! We met 40 years ago as tiny bebes in the park, and through the years we drifted apart several times but always found each other again at various dance recitals, school field trips, beach clubs, fabric stores, and summer jobs. The universe kept shoving us together til it stuck. This quilt is a hug from afar. I might not be able to get up to New Jersey frequently but this quilt will be there for cozy/comforting times as needed.

I picked out my fabric, then used a quilt generator at savoreverystitch.com (the last slide), then imported it into Photoshop and colored over it (second to last slide), basically changing the whole thing, but it was an awesome starting place.
